Benchmark: Understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and practice legal and ethical behavior.
JAK: I think these make sense. I wonder if they are too vague, but I suppose in discussions with the department, and once we start using them a bit, that will work itself out if indeed that is the case. With these standards, good thought will have to be given to what defines “Introductory” versus “Mastery” levels. Would you want to separate the second benchmark, into one standards on collaboration and one on communication? Here is another set of standards I came across on literacies, you might find them useful if you haven’t seen them already: ICT Literacy Maps http://www.p21.org
